A 30’ creative documentary co-directed by Parisa Urquhart and Ling Lee, produced by the Scottish Documentary Institute and filmed by David Lee. Photos by Hannah Bailey.

Livingston skateboard park ‘Livi’ is world-legendary among skaters but forty years on it has fallen into disrepair. It was designed and built by Scottish award-winning architect Iain Urquhart in 1980.

The Snagglerats - three ambitious young skate girls - who want to inspire more girls to skate, go on a mission to bring Livi back to life. Can the girls inspire enough support in their community to make Livi great again?

The girls learn of the inspiring work Iain Urquhart went to and see amazing ‘never before seen’ archive that Iain Urquhart took when building the skatepark. Tony Hawk, who skated at Livi soon after its opening encourages the girls on their journey.

Long Live Livi premiered at the Glasgow International Film Festival 3rd March 2020. It was then broadcast on BBC Scotland Channel numerous times and on BBC iPlayer nationwide. When broadcast it was picked up immediately by Amazon Prime in Japan and USA and Garage Films worldwide. Now playing on Kendal Film Player.
